That is the whole idea behind the case. You should taste the fruit. You should taste the filling and the ganache underneath it. Sweet is the last thing on the list, not the only thing on it.

Everything is made here, and what is out changes through the day. This is the shape of the case rather than a fixed list, so come look, or call ahead if you have your heart set on something.

The same counter does lunch. It is a real deli, not an afterthought next to the desserts, and plenty of people come in for a sandwich and leave with a cake.

Ask about gluten‑free or made‑to‑order requests. They are used to working around them.

Birthdays, anniversaries, showers, weddings, church events, or a Tuesday that needed a cake. Olena and Kosta take custom orders and keep a catalog to look through, so bring a date and an idea and they will work out the rest with you.

Bizinka started with a loaf of bread.

Kosta and Olena left Kharkiv with their three children after the war reached the city in 2022. They spent time in Latvia, then Italy, then France, and arrived in Union City that July.

They could not find bread they liked at the store, so they baked their own. Friends tried it and asked why they were not selling it. That question turned into preorders, and preorders turned into a case downtown.

The name comes from Olena’s grandmother. So does most of the sensibility: European baking, a lighter hand with sugar, and the idea that a good cake should taste like more than one thing.
